Honda S2000 AP1

Honda S2000 AP1 Soft Top
The Honda S2000 was introduced in Japan in 1999, as a performance convertible to compete against cars such as the BMW Z3 and Porsche Boxster. It was powered by a 2.0L inline-4 mounted longitudinally powering the rear wheels that could rev up to 9000 RPM. The F20 engine had the highest horsepower rating per liter for a naturally aspirated car at the time. The revised AP2 version was introduced in 2004, which increased the engine size to 2.2L, increased torque figures, and reduced the redline to 8200 RPM. Despite the S2000 being lightweight and rear wheel drive, the S2000 wasn’t very popular in drifting motorsports due to its lack of torque and high redline, but it is fairly popular among time attacks. The S2000 was very driver focused with an interior that is directed towards the driver, 50:50 weight distribution, two seats, and a 6-speed manual transmission only. The Honda S2000 was discontinued in 2009 and it was one of the last exciting Hondas produced.
